Price Busters: Save on your supermarket shop
Feb 12th, 2009 by kfisher
You’re standing at the checkout inserting your card into the reader. You’re punching in your pin and that’s where it hits you. You press the green ‘enter’ key wondering in disbelief, how did your shopping bill get so expensive?
Yes folks, it’s another affect of credit crunch inflation kicking in. So if you’ve noticed your wallet getting a lot lighter much faster, take a look at this.
Us busy little bees at Credit Crunch Busters have done a little research for you and put together a typical shopping list, to see just how much money you can save simply by purchasing cheaper brands. Make sure you are securely seated as you may be surprised by what we’ve found.
We selected a supermarket at random and this time we have chosen Morrisons. Please note that prices of some products (particularly those sold in weight units such as fruits, vegetables and cheeses) may not be exact and are an average estimate.

It’s astonishing how much you can save! The value buy is less than half the price of the branded products, meaning your total saving would be £32.95.
Even if you don’t fancy cutting down completely, the supermarket own brand will still save you nearly 20 quid meaning you have that bit of extra money to pay the bills or spend else where. Genius!
